Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s soccer program for ages 2 to 8. Visit the Oval this Sunday for age-appropriate soccer skills, character-building, and FUN! This program offers three activities focused on the ages below:

  • MINI (Ages 2–3): A high-energy program introducing fundamental soccer principles like using your feet, dribbling, and basic rules. Children enjoy fun games, songs, and positive reinforcement as they experience the joy of playing soccer.

  • CLASSIC (Ages 3–5 / Pre-K): Creative, imaginative games teach basic skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting. Sessions also highlight character traits like respect, teamwork, and appreciation.

  • PREMIER (K–2nd Grade): A more advanced curriculum for school-aged children, with skill progression and competitive play through fun games and team challenges.

Parkway Presents: Casual Fifth Taiko Dance and Drumming

The Parkway Council’s Parkway Presents series highlights Philadelphia’s rich cultural diversity.

This week Taiko drum and dance group Casual Fifth performs. FREE

Casual Fifth, founded in 2020, is a Philadelphia-based Taiko and modern dance ensemble focused on creating innovative work rooted in the fundamentals and history of Japanese Taiko drumming and American Modern Dance. The ensemble is directed by Mac Evans and Alex Pfister, who learned these art forms studying with multiple Taiko and Modern Dance teachers and groups from NYC, Boston, Hawaii, and Japan. They are joined by friends, mentors, and mentees who round out the ensemble with their own musical and movement arts experiences. As an ensemble Casual Fifth pays homage to the origins of Taiko and Modern Dance and derives inspiration from these roots to create new works. Click here to learn more.

This year’s headliners include RICH MEDINA, COSMO BAKER, DJ JS1, CRAIG G and SAT-ONE, who will be joined by other performers from Philadelphia, Virginia, New York, and Florida.

Las Mariposas Galácticas is an 8-piece Cumbia Klezmer Punk band based in Philadelphia. Drawing on the members’ South American and Jewish roots, the band creates a unique diasporic sound that gets audiences dancing with rebellious joy. Honoring their Indigenous Andean musical ancestries and blending it with punkified ancient Jewish melodies, they perform a mix of original compositions and classic tunes that span languages, cultures, and genres.

For the Love of the City: Summer Games by Sweat Off

Sweat Off Fitness & Recovery was created to unite individuals within the fitness community through high-energy workouts and recovery services, while fostering meaningful connections between trainers, venues, and small business owners. Designed for all fitness levels, beginners, athletes, and everyone in between, the experience ensures a supportive and empowering environment where progress is celebrated at every stage.

This summer, Sweat Off has launched its first-ever Summer Games Series. Guests can expect a 45–60 minute community workout, followed by a Kids Dash Relay, games, food, local vendors, live giveaways, and multiple opportunities to win raffles throughout the day. FREE

The first chapter of the Drunken Knitwits was established in Oxford, UK in 2012 and break-out chapters have been popping up ever since. They're now knitting across 3 continents, 5 countries, and in 13 cities, including Philadelphia! The Philadelphia Drunken Knitwits have been meeting weekly to knit over dinner and drinks since 2017.
